We have a range of exciting events, projects and workshop opportunities throughout the season for young people and emerging artists.
 
Cannon Hill Lectures (CHL) are for young creatives aged 16-24yrs from the West Midlands. The FREE sessions aim to de-mystify the creative and cultural sector helping  to find a route in, whether as an employee, freelancer or as an entrepreneur. CHL can help you to shape your creative ideas and explore how to make them work. The lectures share case studies and tips from successful creative entrepreneurs and will arm you with the skills you need to succeed.

Three of the most exciting new guitar bands come together for one night undermac birmingham‘s Next Gen seal of approval.
London’s Shout Timber headline the event with support from Nottingham’sHuskies and the Midlands’ Only ShadowsShout Timber‘s indie pop is for fans of Vampire Weekend whereas Huskies are for those dedicated to The Smiths and Only Shadows will be opening up the show with their dramatic power-pop, kicking proceedings off in style. Between bands spinning vibes will be DJ sets from Jacky P and DJ Dolequeue.
 
Dance and Digital three-day lab with Rosie Kay (RKDC) and Louis Price
We are delighted to be hosting a three-day residency with dance companyRKDC. If you’re a Midlands-based emerging practitioner with an interest in dance and digital work, you’ll want to get involved…
The course will take place at mac birmingham from Wednesday 23 to Friday 25 October, 10am to 3.30pm. Up to 15 IdeasTap members will be invited to take part.
 
New Shoes
New Skills, New Challenges, New Projects, New Steps, New Communities
New Shoes is a peer-to-peer creative programme encouraging  the take-up of creative social action amongst Young People in Birmingham. Throughout October and November mac birmingham in partnership with Beatfreeks, will equip and enable YP from referral agencies, youth charities local to mac birmingham and surrounding areas, to develop creative social action projects, festivals and / or events to benefit their communities and the YP within. 

Want to get involved? mac and Beatfreeks will be hosting a FREE 
New Shoesevent at mac birmingham on the 23 and 24 Nov, 11-5pm where we will be challenging Young People 14-24 to create a Social Action project or event in the space of 2 days.
